The town is located in a rural setting, crossed by the river Idice, and is rich in parks and countryside. The population is 15,000. Not far away, there is a waste-to-energy plant.</p>
<p>The location has a humid temperate climate with very hot and humid summers and rather cold and wet winters. </p>
<p>In recent years, summers that were longer and hotter than normal occurred, in which there were also long periods of drought. Average rainfall in the town ranges from 600 to 900 mm/y and is usually concentrated in spring and autumn.</p>
<p>In winter, snowfalls can occur and sometimes very abundant. Frequent night frosts.</p>
<p>The modest windiness contributes to the formation of fogs and mists and to the permanence of a high air pollution. Occasionally strong winds.</p>
<p>Tenants are expected to move into their dwellings in 2023.</p>
<p>The apartments are made in different sizes for the middle class, dedicated to singles, families, and the elderly.</p>

At an altitude of approx. 410 m above sea level the climate is classified as warm and temperate. Ostfildern is a city with a lot of precipitation. The annual average temperature in Osfildern is around 10 °C. The annual rainfall is around 877 mm, and the climate is classified as continental.</p>
<p>The demo consists of a single building owned by Wohnbau Studio GmbH (private real estate). With a mix of different floor plans and sizes, an attempt is made to appeal to a wide range of prospective tenants. The residential units will be realized as rental apartments. A large part of the lighting design will be pre-installed on-site in order to ensure energy-efficient lighting. The kitchens are also made available to future tenants, including energy-saving appliances.</p>
